Translation Services

About Translation

Translation is the accurate transfer of a written document into another language.

What we offer

We use computer assisted translation (CAT) software to ensure consistency with previous translations and that your preferred terminology is applied throughout the document. We ensure all your information is dealt with confidentially.

Languages we translate

We offer French to English translation, Spanish to English translation, and Hungarian to English translation, plus the reverse language directions. We also regularly provide translations between English and Arabic, English and Russian and even English and Nepali! Please see our list for our regular languages and do not hesitate to ask about others you may require.

One-off commissions are normally charged per word, with rates depending on the language combination. All our quotes include revision and proofreading as an integral part of the translation service. Say goodbye to minimum charges, project management costs and the hassle of budgeting each job with our monthly subscription plan. This is suitable for clients with regular translation projects.

Certified Translation

Certified translation includes a signed declaration from the translator stating that the translation is complete and accurate to the best of their knowledge and belief and also bears their certificate and seal.

We use experienced translators who have achieved the relevant registration to produce certified or ‘sworn’ translations. The translator must usually be registered in the country where the document is to be used. In the UK, they must be Qualified Members or Fellows of the ITI. In civil law countries, ‘sworn’ translators are qualified translators appointed by the government and have similar responsibility to a notary public.

Certified translations should always be proofread by a second linguist for quality purposes. The pages must also be initialled, stamped and scanned and the signed certificate drawn up, so we hope you will understand that the pricing reflects the time taken to prepare them in the specific manner required and the responsibility borne by the translator.

Who certified translation is for

If your translation also needs notarising or legalising, we can signpost you through this process and carry out the extra steps required from the translator. Check your end client’s requirements and we’ll help see your paperwork through to the end!

How certified translation works

  1. Tell us in which country/region the translation will be used and the exact certification instructions from the end user (normally a government body or educational institution) of the translation.
  2. Send us the complete documents for certified translation. Original Apostilles must be included.
  3. For new customers, we kindly ask for a 50% deposit before starting the translation.
  4. When you receive your certified translation in pdf and paper copy, to ensure it stays valid please keep it intact, exactly as it was delivered.

About High Volume Translation

If you have several thousand words that need translating from or into another language in a relatively short timeframe, we have three options below.

Summary translation

If you only need certain information from the documents, such as the key points of agreements, speeches or research papers, translators are trained in their degree courses to produce summaries to your specifications. This dramatically reduces the cost of translating long documents in full. We can also produce monolingual or translated abstracts.

Machine-assisted translation

For high volume texts needed for information-only purposes, we can offer you machine-assisted translation. The machine output can be fully or partially edited by a translator according to the level of accuracy you require and is a much more cost-effective option.

Multiple translators

Dividing a long job between several translators can be useful to meet a short deadline. Although it is preferable to use as few translators as possible for consistency of style, we use glossaries and careful editing when compiling the full document.

Talk to us to decide the best solution for your project.

Who high volume translation is for

High Volume Translation is for clients who have regular volumes of translation. We will assign you the same translators and we can offer either an ad-hoc or monthly subscription service.
